At Skaven Strand Put and Take you have a well-maintained fishing lake close to Tarm, Skjern and Varde. Here you can go fishing with your family, friends or colleagues and enjoy a day in green surroundings.
The lake is known as one of the area’s best put and takes. Fish are released here regularly, and the lake is designed so that both beginners and experienced anglers have a good experience.
The lake is operated by Skaven Strand Camping, which provides camping in Skaven – so there is ample opportunity for you to combine the fishing trip with accommodation at Skaven Strand Camping or in a holiday home for rent close to the water.

Fishing in Skaven fishing lake
Our fishing lake is located close to Ringkøbing Fjord and covers approximately 10,000 m² with a depth of 1.5 to 3.5 meters. This provides good conditions for both fish and fishermen. Trout from 1 to 3 kg are released, and 200–250 kg of fish are typically released once a week, so there are good chances of catching.
You can expect:

Put and take for families and groups
A trip to the lake is a great family outing. Children can catch their first fish while the adults relax and enjoy the surroundings.
If you are planning a company trip or a larger gathering, we can arrange fishing for groups of up to 40 people. You can get help with:

What does put and take cost?
Prices depend on how long you want to fish and how many fish are included in the fishing license. Skaven Strand Fishing Lake is open all year round from 6:00 a.m. to sunset.
Our prices per rod:
- Fishing license 2 hours: 130 DKK (max. 3 fish)
- Fishing license 3 hours: 170 DKK (max. 5 fish)
- Fishing license 5 hours: 250 DKK (max. 7 fish)
- Fishing license 7 hours: 320 DKK (max. 10 fish)
- Fishing license for children under 12 years: 50 DKK (max. 2 fish)
Payment is easily made at the site via an automatic machine.
Around the lake you will find tables and benches, sheltered barbecue areas with grills for free use, and the possibility of parking on the grass by the barbecue areas. There are good toilet facilities and an indoor cleaning area so you can easily prepare the day’s catch.
You can also have your fish frozen for the trip home or borrow a smoker and cook your catch right away. There is also a shop just 150 meters from the lake selling fishing tackle, powerbait, worms and other necessary equipment.
Skaven Strand Fiskesø is suitable for families, schools, companies and staff associations. With a fisherman’s house with space for up to 40 people and child-friendly surroundings with a sandbox, trampoline, seesaw and mini golf, you can put together a day that suits both young and old participants.
More than fishing
At Skaven Strand Put & Take you can combine a day at the lake with other experiences in the area. Many guests choose to play a round of mini golf, which offers fun and challenging courses for both children and adults.
The area also offers good opportunities for swimming and surfing .
